ADSS cable is loose tube stranded. Fibers, 250μm, are positioned into a loose tube made of high modulus plastics. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around a FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) as a non-metallic central strength member into a compact and circular cable core.
The actual status of overhead power lines is fully considered in ADSS cable design. For power lines under 110kV, PE outer sheath is applied. For power lines equal to or over 110kV, AT outer sheath is applied. The dedicated design of aramid quantity and stranding process satisfies various span requirements.

Fiber cables are coiled on bakelite, wooden, or ironwood drums. During transportation, proper tools should be used to avoid damaging the package. Cables should be protected from moisture, high temperatures, fire sparks, over-bending, crushing, and mechanical stress. Each drum contains a single cable length with sealed ends and a minimum 3-meter reserve length.
The color of cable markings is white, printed at 1-meter intervals on the outer sheath. Marking legends can be customized per user requirements.
